About Me

Maribel is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, National Certified Counselor, and is Spanish speaking. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults with concerns regarding anxiety and depression, behavioral concerns, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, and trauma. Her goal is to provide her clients with a safe space where they can express themselves and process their thoughts and feelings without judgment. She enjoys collaborating with her clients and providing them with the appropriate skills, tools, and psychoeducation to help them feel empowered and in control to create change in their life and reach their goals.

Maribel’s theoretical orientation is holistic and collaborative with an attachment theory perspective, and she believes that each person is unique and has a one-of-a-kind worldview that has been influenced and shaped by their lived experiences. When working with children she incorporates child-centered play therapy, sandtray, mindfulness, and creative techniques through games and arts. When working with adolescents and adults she likes to incorporate person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and creative techniques.

Maribel obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston in 2018. During that time, she also earned a certificate in Early Childhood Intervention. She then earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2021, and also earned a certificate in Bilingual Counseling with an emphasis in Spanish. She has clinical experience providing services at a counseling center where she worked with adults, and a non-profit organization where she worked with at-risk youth and their families.

In her free time, Maribel enjoys going out for walks, brewing tea, thrift shopping, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing with her cat.
