Tam Pham is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults with diverse backgrounds. She primarily works with those struggling with depression and/or anxiety disorders, communication, and trauma. She is passionate about her work and is committed to helping clients improve their overall quality of life.
As a first-generation Asian American, she has an understanding of what it’s like to navigate a life where you have different cultures and identities that each come with unique dynamics and expectations. She believes that each person’s experiences, whether positive or negative should be accepted unconditionally. She strives to provide a culturally sensitive, safe, and nonjudgmental space to help build a nurturing and productive environment where clients are empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Tam completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Houston in 2018. She earned her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2021. She has worked in the community and clinical setting providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling services. She has professional experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking survivors.
She believes in using an integrative counseling approach and utilizes skills from treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. And she is excited to start the journey of EMDR training and certification in Fall of 2020.
In her personal time, Tam enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dogs, cooking, traveling, and exercising.
