About Me:
Ashley Thiel is a Licensed Master of Social Work with a passion for working with children, tweens, and their families. She is currently pursuing her clinical licensure and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. Ashley is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered in their healing journey. Her niche is working with children and families that are experiencing anxiety, mood changes, behavioral concerns, attention deficit, neuro-divergence, and parent/child attachment.
Ashley earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, where she focused on trauma, attachment, and play therapy. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University, with concentrations in Psychology and Social Equity.
Her clinical experience includes providing play therapy interventions, leading social skills groups, and supporting children and families in private practice settings. Ashley is currently a therapist at Julia’s Counseling and Play Therapy, where she continues to grow her expertise in child-centered and trauma-informed care.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys relaxing with her dogs and loved ones, traveling, watching TV, and trying new desserts.
