Natasha Prosperi is a bilingual (/English/Spanish) Licensed Masters of Social Work, TSU-IPT Certified Sandtray Therapist, fully trained EMDR therapist in certification process. Natasha is likewise working toward her certification to become a Registered Play Therapist. She specializes in working with children, teenagers, and adults who have suffered trauma or are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, and/or loss.
Natasha provides a caring and compassionate environment that facilitates deep work toward healing and resilience. She uses attachment theory, neuroscience, EMDR, and sandtray therapy, to guide her practice. While serving children, Natasha applies a systemic approach, working along with the parents, to help the child overcome any obstacle or challenge.
Natasha is a graduate of the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work in 2020 as a Trauma Fellow. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Cum Laude, in 1995 from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela. She then completed a specialization in Reservoir Engineering at the same university in 2002. She worked doing research at the National Oil Company in Venezuela for seven years until 2003 when she moved to the United States with her husband and her kids. Natasha was a CASA and CAC volunteer in Child Advocates of Fort Bend for a year and a half before starting her master in social work at the University of Houston. Natasha has worked in counseling since she began her field placement at The Alliance, two years ago, where she facilitated counseling sessions to the immigrant, asylum seeker, and refugee population. Natasha also led counseling sessions at different High Schools in HISD.
Natasha is an advocate for the under-served population, she volunteers her time assisting one of her professors at the University of Houston in a research project to help the immigrant population. As a hobby, Natasha enjoys creating miniatures for the sandtray and going for walks especially at the beach. Natasha has raised three children of her own, and has been married for more than 20 years.
