About Me:

 

Kyah is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She is passionate about creating a warm, compassionate, and safe environment where others can heal and grow at their own pace to create and live a life that they love. She specializes in working with children and teens and enjoys supporting them find greater peace and embrace their capability and worth. 

 

Kyah is a graduate of University of Texas where she received her Bachelor’s in Rhetoric and Writing in 2013. She went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a Master’s in Social Work in 2023. She has prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, disabled children, and elders in faith based, for profit and nonprofit organizations. 

 

She practices from a person-centered, trauma-sensitive, neuro-informed, and systems perspective approach. She welcomes all of the individual and believes that we can heal and move forward when we practice acceptance of ourselves, including the parts of ourselves that we don't know how to or might feel unable to accept. She believes that science is the contemporary language of the mystical, and she blends her studies of spiritual teachings and science in her therapeutic approach. She provides modalities centered in play, such as child-centered play therapy and sandtray. She also enjoys working with embodied healing practices and sound. She feels privileged to be a part of individuals and families healing path.

 

In her free time, Kyah enjoys walking in nature, learning and exploring, writing poetry, sharing time with family, friends, and in community, being with animals, travel, interior design and architecture, and eating plant-based meals.
