About Me
Juliet Ogbonna is a Licensed Master of Social Work. She is passionate about supporting couples, parents, and adults seeking to heal individually and as a unit. She is enthusiastic about providing psychotherapy/psychoeducation, couples workshops, effective parenting strategies, and relationship tools for improved psychosocial well-being. Juliet receives clinical supervision from Dr. Dwan Milam-Reed, PhD, LCSW-S of Elysian Counseling and Education.
Juliet received her Associate Social Work Diploma at MacEwan University, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in 2016 and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, in 2021. She graduated from the University Of Houston Graduate College Of Social Work in 2023. She has social work case management and crisis intervention experience in child welfare, school, family and community engagement, mental health, and adult psychiatric in-patient and outpatient programs. Juliet is the Care Manager of the University of Houston Center for Student for Empowerment (CSE) - Student Affairs Division. She oversees CSE students' mental health and well-being.
She practices from strength-based and person-in-the-environment perspectives. She is an advocate for anti-oppressive social work practice. She has training in Suicide Intervention (QPR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Clinical Applications of the Couples MIM, and is in the process of receiving the Gottman Method Couples Therapy - Level 1 & 2.
In her free time, Juliet loves to cook and bond with her family of five, listen to her favorite podcasts, and watch romantic movies.
