Savannah Vazquez, LPC Associate
About Me
Savannah Vazquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-A) Associate specializing in working with children and adolescents, with a focus on middle and high school-aged clients. She is dedicated to fostering a strong foundation of trust and understanding with each client, guiding them through their therapeutic journey. She is working towards gaining her registered play therapy credential as well.
Savannah's background in a military family exposed her to diverse cultures and environments, shaping her empathetic approach to counseling. Her mental health career began in Waco, TX, working with children and adults with developmental disabilities during her undergraduate studies. After earning her Bachelor's degree, she relocated to Alabama, where she developed a passion for trauma counseling, particularly with children and adolescents. Her experience in an inpatient mental health facility confirmed her calling in this field. Savannah credits the children she has worked with for inspiring her ongoing growth as a clinician, believing that every child deserves to feel heard and seen, regardless of age or life experiences.
Savannah is passionate about giving a voice to those who may feel voiceless. She has a special interest in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), suicide prevention, the unique challenges faced by military families, and the impact of trauma. She believes in treating each client as an individual, recognizing their unique therapeutic needs. This philosophy drives her multidisciplinary approach, incorporating various therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused treatment.
In addition to her LPC-Associate license, Savannah is LENS Neurofeedback trained and is actively working toward her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification. In her free time, she enjoys creative activities, reading, fishing, and spending quality time with her husband and dog, often relaxing on the couch with a movie or video game.
