About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a passion for working with children, adolescents, parents, and families. I believe every child’s behavior tells a story, and my goal is to understand what may be happening beneath the surface rather than simply focusing on the behavior itself. I approach therapy from a person-centered, trauma-informed, and holistic perspective, recognizing that children and teens are shaped by their experiences, relationships, environments, and individual strengths.

I strive to create a warm, playful, and accepting environment where children and teens feel safe being themselves. Because children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling, I incorporate creative and developmentally appropriate approaches that allow them to express themselves, process difficult experiences, build confidence, and develop healthy emotional coping skills.

I also believe parents and caregivers are an important part of the therapeutic process. My goal is not to judge parenting or assign blame, but to help families better understand one another, strengthen communication and connection, navigate challenging behaviors, and create healthier patterns within the family.

Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient counseling, and Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs (PHP/IOP). I have experience supporting children, adolescents, and families with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, emotional & behavioral concerns, self-esteem, family conflict, life transitions, self-harm, and mental health crises.

My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, collaborative, authentic, and playful. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and child centered play-based interventions. Most importantly, I believe therapy should meet each child and family where they are at, rather than expecting them to fit into a one-size-fits-all approach.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, making art, gardening, studying psychology, weightlifting, playing video games, baking, and spending time with my husband and 2 children.
